DESCRIPTION

The facility has been designed bearing in mind that the research labs will be used to increase the capacity of rice-growing countries in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. The facility is a ground plus one storeyed structure, spreaded over 40000 sft. Ground floor includes the Centre of Excellence in Rice Value Addition (CERVA), a suite of modern laboratories, analytical labs, milling quality lab, cooking quality lab, sensory and tasting booths for grain taste, and state of the art library. The education and training arm of IRRI SARC, IRRI Education, includes spacious technologically designed and flexible training and lecture halls. GIS rooms, state of the art training centre, workstations for researchers, meeting rooms, director room, conference rooms and collaborative spaces along with a vibrant lunch area are located on the first floor.
